How to Perform Leather Seat Care

If you’ve had a spill in Hendersonville or you notice an accumulation of dust or debris on your Acura seats, here’s how best to clean your leather seats:

1. Vacuum the crevices of your seats to remove any dust, dirt, or debris. Then carefully vacuum the seat surface, being careful to not scratch the leather with any debris.
2. Once the debris has been removed,apply a pH-neutral cleaning solution to your upholstery, making sure to avoid getting any liquid cleaner into any perforations. If you have perforated leather upholstery, spray the cleaner onto a microfiber cloth instead of directly onto the upholstery. 
3. Use a microfiber cloth and soft-bristled brush to gently cleanse the leather upholstery. 
4. After your seats are clean, apply an approved leather conditioner to your seats, and gently work in using a clean microfiber cloth. Let the conditioner dry and then buff in with another clean microfiber cloth. Using a leather conditioner will help keep your seats supple and avoid cracking. 

For your cleaning products, keep it simple. A colorless microfiber cloth works best. If you’re not using a leather cleaner or saddle soap, you can make a cleaning solution of 1 part white vinegar and two parts water combined in a spray bottle. Avoid using any of these products:

• Sharp objects that may scratch
• Household cleaner
• Dark cloths
• Detergents
• Furniture polish

1. Stash a small spray bottle of your cleaning solution and a couple of clean microfiber cloths in your car for clean-ups on the go.
